It was Kelly Tarlton’s dream to display to the world Southern Ocean marine life from a diver’s perspective. On January 25, 1985, the vision became a reality with the opening of Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World – an amazing feat of skill, craftsmanship and leading edge design.

Interest in the aquarium exceeded all expectations and in just two months, Kelly greeted the 100,000th visitor. The very same day, in a sad loss for everyone touched by the magic of the aquarium, Kelly died of heart complications. But as the landmark attraction goes from strength to strength, Mr Tarlton's memory lives on.

Dive with the Sharks

Your thrilling underwater guided tour will bring you up face to face with the Bronze Whaler Shark, Sevengill and Wobbegong sharks, giant stingrays and a variety of other fish. Fully qualified instructors will ensure that your dive is a never to be forgotten experience - whether you are a first time diver or a certified diver!

As a non-diver you will have a full day at Kelly Tarlton's starting with a Discover Scuba introductory lesson to teach you the basics to enable you to dive with the sharks with no protective caging on your first ever dive! Not only that, but your Discover Scuba lesson provides you with a recognised certificate that counts towards the international PADI Dive Certificate. in38 Single bronzie and tunnel

With small groups of up to 3 per dive, our instructors will ensure that you are in safe hands at all times and guide you through the crystal clear waters of the shark's lair.

Kids Corner - ideal for birthday parties !

Spend a night at Kelly Tarlton’s and you can choose between sleeping next to the Piranha or giant Freshwater Eels. Or, for the less daring, the friendly marine creatures in the tide pool make less alarming bedmates!

When you arrive for your overnight stay at 7.00pm, you’ll be served supper, then a knowledgeable Kelly Tarlton's staff member will take you behind the scenes to feed hundreds of hungry fish. After breakfast the following morning, you’ll leave at 9.00am, bursting with fishy tales to tell the friends who missed out on this fun, educational event.
